Splurrt x Shikaruna x Kaiju Korner SDCC release details

Next week, I'll be heading to California to attend SDCC. I'll have on hand (well, in backpack) some figures and prints. Here's the run down:

1: Mardi Gras themed Shikaruna bunny + print sets. (limit one set per person)

These sets will consist of 2 Shikaruna bunnies painted by Joe Merrill (Splurrt). a 5" x 7" print of a painting by KK Irene, a string of NOLA parade beads, and some stickers. Each set will be $40.
Bunny set

5" x 7" print
2: One-off Shikaruna bunnies painted by Joe. $20 each. (limit one per person)
one-offs
Both the sets and one-offs are super-limited, so it might be best to find me at SDCC on preview night (Wednesday). I'm planning to be in the indie toy area for a while at the start of preview night. I'll have a Kaiju Korner sticker on my backpack to help you find me.

See you in San Diego!

Irene Fu x Uamou customs

Here's Irene's newest custom set: line art using Sign Painters' 1 shot pinstriping paint on blank Uamou figures. During my last visit to Taiwan, I picked up some super fine brushes from Germany, which allow for amazing precision at the micro level.
The smooth contours of Uamou's figures make them easy to work on. Also, the paint really pops on the bright white figures. It's early days, but a future collab may be in the works!

Grody Shogun x Kaiju Korner = Monster Kara (Ordering window is now closed)

Welcome to Glowdy to the MaKKs!

After months of preparation, it’s finally ordering time for the first Grody Shogun x Kaiju Korner exclusives. Irene and I are happy to bring you the debut releases of Grody Shogun's Monster Kara. First we’d like to thank Luke and Amy for being awesome people to work with. :)

We have two versions of Monster Kara for you: painted GID and unpainted GID. Here they are:

Painted samples
Unpainted blanks showing the different head and arm possibilities
The Monster Kara bodies are all the same, but the heads and arms will be randomly selected from one of six heads and two of six arms. The figures will be painted by Luke Rook, aka Mr. Grody Shogun. Plus, each Monster Kara will have slight paint variations, giving each Monster Kara its own… karachter? Pinkies up!

If you want to order multiples, that’s not a problem. Also, if you order more than one blank or more than one painted figure, we’ll try our best to make sure the heads are different sculpts. :)

Bonus time!

Each figure will come with a print based on awesome Grody art by Kaiju Korner's Irene Fu.

Blank figures will include a black and white print of one these illustrations:

Painted figures will include a color print of this painting:

 Ordering Info

These Monster Kara figures are made to order. Figures will ship in 6-8 weeks, or hopefully sooner. The reason for the time frame: the figures have to be ordered from the factory, Luke has to paint them, the prints have to be made, the gnomes have to be fed. You know how this works. Thanks in advance for your patience. :)

Ordering is super easy. First, the basics:

Prices
Unpainted figures: $28 each
Painted figures: $33 each

Signed delivery: $8 per figure + $1 for each additional figure

EMS: $12 for the first figure + $2.50 for each additional figure

Irene Fu Ultraman Custom

This is the newest custom by Kaiju Korner's Irene Fu. You might have seen her white base with blue line art set in Ilenana's 10th anniversary Dai Kaiju Card Monsters show. Click here for my post on that show. Her next custom was a mini Gargamel wind up. Click here to see that one.

This is her largest custom to date. This time she used a super fine brush to apply black pinstriping paint on a GID base Ultraman. (Click on each image to see the full size.)

A botanical virus is creeping over Ultraman, simultaneously tattooing him and enshrouding him in vines. He is being decorated and devoured.
Check out the organic clawed hand reaching over his helmet.

New Irene Fu Custom

Kaiju Korner's Irene Fu has been working on a floral/tattoo/striping style. This is her second custom (well, third if you count the Ultraman she's been working on). This time she customized a mini Gargamel wind up figure.

 More pics after the jump.
