Art Tarot Exhibition @ Few Many

Few Many is currently hosting an exhibition of tarot-inspired illustrations. The event, which runs through July 17, contains 44 works. Some are by names familiar to the toy world: Hariken, Devilrobots, Kaijin, and Touma.

Perhaps the most striking thing about the exhibition is its diversity. Clearly they've pulled together artists from many backgrounds working in different media. That's reflected in the art on display, so you have pen and ink drawings, paintings, digital art, etc. Some pieces take a fine art bent, while others are more pop or kawaii.

Here are more shots from the show:

Store Visit: Few Many

Few Many has been a fixture on the Tokyo toy store circuit for years. It's located in a Shinjuku alley near the Isetan department store, just a few minutes from the east exit of the JR Shinjuku station. (Click here to get the exact location off my Tokyo toy shop map.)

Few Many is something of a hybrid shop, with toys, clothing, stationery, and even a small gallery space for exhibitions. In some ways, that makes it something of a designer toy gift shop, but you may also be able to track down something you need (or want - it's sometimes hard to tell the difference...), and if you're in the Shinjuku area, it's worth checking out.
