Rockin' Jelly Bean x Erostika 9th Anniversary Super Foxy Event

Today at Erostika, Rockin' Jelly Bean, a bunch of staff and fans, and a pair of models got together to celebrate the store's 9th anniversary. Congratulations guys!

Most of the items sold were related to Super Foxy.

New Rumble Monsters figures (international orders OK!)

The other day at Erostika (Rockin' Jelly Bean's shop in Tokyo), I spotted three new Rumble Monsters figures, which I had previewed in a previous post.

New Rockin Jelly Bean Mug + Taiwan Signing Appearance

A couple of years ago, Rockin Jelly Bean rocked the Taiwan Toy Festival with an awesome booth, prints, and signing session. It's nice to know he's carrying on fostering those Taiwan connections with new licensing collabs and another visit to Taiwan.

Monster Taipei is selling a new mug featuring an RJB design. The mugs are made in Yingge, one of Asia's most renown pottery centers. (Makes a really nice day trip from Taipei.)

The mugs, retailing at 450 NT, first went on sale at Monster Taipei, and I believe the distribution is set to expand to other outlets throughout Taiwan.

New Rockin' Jelly Bean sofubi figure: Mr. Drag

Rockin' Jelly Bean is best known for his poster art, apparel, and Erostika - his Tokyo and Nagoya outlet stores. But he's also done a good bit of figure design, including his very well received take on the Fantastic Four's Invisible Woman.

Recently, RJB released a new original sofubi figure: Mr. Drag. Two versions have been released so far. The figure captures RJB's blend of 1950s rockabilly and surf scenes. It's also very nicely painted. Plus, given the angle of the joints and limbs, the balance is a real feat of design!

The sofubi figure is based on RJB's art.

New from Erostika

The good people at Erostika, led by Rockin Jelly Bean, continue putting out awesome prints and apparel. They also dabble in toys, like RJB's incredible Invisible Woman. Plus, word is they're working on a new sofubi toy, hopefully to be released soon.

Erostika store visit

 

Erostika is the store front for Rockin Jelly Beans' vivacious, voluptuous creations. With a swingin 60s rockabilly meets surf culture vibe, the store explodes with vibrant colors and daring designs. Over the years, RJB has built quite a following with his prints, apparel, and toys. And he's brought it all together in one of the best-designed shops in Tokyo. There's also an Erostika in Nagoya, if you make it out there.

 

The Tokyo shop, which I recently visited, is in Harajuku, is in the same building as Secret Base and Bounty Hunter. You can find the location here, on the Tokyo toy map I put together.

Monsters Showcase featuring Rockin Jelly Bean and Sketch

Tonight was the opening reception for Monsters Showcase, a two-man show featuring monster themed artwork by Rockin Jelly Bean (the creative force behind Erostika) and Sketch, a fine artist of prodigious talent. The show is being held at Sunday Issue, a bar totin' gallery in Shibuya that's just a few minutes' walk from Shibuya station.

There are 23 pieces in the show, ranging from 250,000-600,00 yen each. (The average is around 300,000.)

New figure from Rockin Jelly Bean

Rockin Jelly Bean's latest soft vinyl figure is called Mr. Drag. The debut version (unpainted white) was recently released, and future versions (and accompanying figures) are planned.
