Toy Art Gallery (TAG) shop visit

Toy Art Gallery (TAG), located in LA (near Hollywood), is one of the best indie toy stores I've been to. Its  selection and range are excellent, they have a great staff, and they use their ample floor space to regularly host shows and events.
On the eve of the 2012 SDCC, I had a chance to visit the gallery - in fact I went straight there from the airport. I snapped some detailed pics to share with you, but first, the store details:

Now some store shots, where you can see how TAG carries Western vinyl, Eastern vinyl, and everything in-between. These guys are the real deal: a veritable UN of Indie Toys.
T9G, Pico Pico, and a bunch more
Joe Ledbetter and company

Tons of blind boxed figures
 More after the jump:

TAG also has a lot of books, plush, and all sorts of other indie toyfectionery...

...not to mention shirts and some gigantic figures

even dolls!

Selection of Ron English toys

Nice trio of clay figures by Miles Nielsen

And an early Pollen Kaiser. Speaking of the figure, TAG has teamed up with a number of indie artists to produce new toys.

Some nice unpainted sofubi.

I mentioned shows. When I was there, TAG had a Secret Base show going on. This is a shot of the many many Secret Base figures they had. Click here for my full report.

There's a space in the back with wall to wall fine art hanging up...

...watched over by fiberglass giants.

The friendly staff at TAG are always ready to answer your questions with a smile - and they do dance routines if you feed them Pocky.

And that's a look at the Toy Art Gallery. If you're in SoCal, I'd highly recommend visiting the shop.

  1. Thanks Again for another one of your "Visit" entries! This' probably the closest I'll ever get to visiting TAG, and it was quite enjoyable. Wonderful coverage!
