2012 Summer Wonder Festival proto toys #3: Kubi Ningyo by Handsome TaroM

Next up in our look at WF proto toys is Kubi Ningyo (aka Maneki Yokai) by Handsome TaroM, Jetturre's partner in toys. This is a licensed figure from a character in a manga by Shigeru Mizuki. The manga was released about 40-45 years ago, after which it was made into a TV show.

Side note: at WF, I learned that Handsome TaroM handles licensed releases, while Jetturre handles original characters.

I love this 60s fashion meets sci fi look. Super clean, and the figure is even in a dance pose!

 

The figure is already in sofubi, but they've been making some design changes. The debut release is slotted for a few months from now.
