Return to Shikaruna - Sept 2010

Yesterday, after a brief run through Akihabara (which has gotten kind of weak on the original sofubi side), we headed to Koiwa. Besides featuring the classic toy shop Third Uncle, Koiwa is also home to the Shikaruna studio.

It's not always a sure bet that the boys will be there (even during the weekday), but we lucked out and they were in shop, hard at work sculpting, painting, and making the Shikaruna magic happen.

The second half of 2010 has marked a big shift for the outfit, which has been concentrating its efforts on a new line of anime toys. (I put up some proto shots in my last Shikaruna post).

Group display:
Tetsujin 28 was the first figure in the line.

Debut release (comic book version) from late July, 2010:
Second release (cartoon version):
Third version (scheduled for release at Superfestival 54 (Sept. 26)):

Wouldn't be a proper visit to the studio without a couple of shots of their kaiju figures.
