Super Festival 70 / / スーパーフェスティバル 70

The 70th installment of the venerable Super Festival took place in Tokyo yesterday. Once again, there were a large number of toy makers on hand. Some had their own original toys, while others had toys based on licensed properties. There was a good variety of Mirrorman toys on sale and display, coinciding with the appearance at the show of Mr. Nobuyuki Ishida, who portrayed the hero in the 1971-1972 tokusatsu. In an upcoming post, I'll show you the special Mirrorman goods exhibition that was displayed at SF 70.

Here are images of more than 50 toy makers who had booths.

always excellent coverage! I'm glad that there are some new designers this year. Gotta say that in the last year ACRO (formerly DUNK) is really come on my radar for the quality of their productions. Frankly anyone that can pull off mass produced sculpts from Oyama Ryu is at the top of my list!

Excellent coverage as always Andy! Thank you so much for your efforts. Looks like it was a great SF, and I am really excited to see the surgence of some classic characters.

Thanks for reading! It's always nice to see releases of both original characters and licensed figures at the show - provides for a dynamic mix!

Thanks for documenting all the good stuff out/coming out. As always, great photos and coverage. I would really have loved to snag some of those Galaxy People vehicles or the Yamomark transparent caterpillar figures. So is Marusan looking to produce and sell those giant-sized store display figures, or are these just for show?

Thanks for reading! Good question about the Marusan figures. If anyone here knows, please comment below.
