Tokyo Overground

This trip, I wanted to get some above ground walking in, instead of relying on subways. So far I've had some really great walks, including this one from Yoyogi to Shinjuku. It's a great way to see Tokyo's gorgeous architecture and street scenes.

Ilanena x Kaiju Korner sneak peak!

Here's a preview of one of the Ilanena x Kaiju Korner exclusives set for release right here in June!

Monstock x Kaiju Korner Mini Borugogon!

Isao-san has cooked up a couple of gorgeous versions of the Mini Borugogon for Kaiju Korner. The figures will be a KK exclusive.

Check back for more details. The release is scheduled for this summer!

Vatundoo Exhibition @ Kaiju Blue

Kaiju Blue is hosting a show of custom painted Vataundoos. The show will run through May 17.

Located in the heart of Shinjuku, in one of the Marui department stores, Kaiju Blue is in a great location. The store blends toys, clothes, and other items from indie designers and their crossovers with mainstream companies like Sanrio.

Videos from Superfes...

Here are a couple of short vids of Superfes in motion...

Train set:

From the pages of Itokin Park's sketchbook...

Ito-san often carries around a sketchbook. Yesterday at Superfes, he showed me this sketch of a possible upcoming project. The idea is for it to be a resin "figure bus" that his mini figs can fit inside. I told him I thought it was an awesome idea. I'd definitely buy one for my Kawadoujis!

Superfestival 49!

Today's event was something else! Superfestival 49, held at the Science Museum in Kodanshita, was chock full of booths selling new sofubi, vintage toys, diecast, plastic, plush, resin, and everything in between.

As usual, once the doors opened, it was time for the Dealer Dash. This year, Marmit got a lot of attention for their new releases. (The dude in front is making a beeline for their table! Dash Dash Go!)
Dead Presidents. I had the pleasure of meeting Matt and seeing the cool customs he brought to the show.
A closeup of some of the many top notch pieces he brought:

Stuff I bought:
They really packed a LOT into this show, and everyone had a good time hanging out.

For lunch, I ate at a really nice vegetarian restaurant. After that, I was allowed to take snaps of one of Itokin Park's sketchbooks, and I got a first glimpse at one of the Ilanena-san x Kaiju Korner exclusives. Pics of all that and more to follow in the coming days!
